Information we collect

NameCharted does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the site. We collect the following automatically:

• Usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type, and device type, collected via Google Analytics (GA4). This data is anonymised and aggregated.
• Advertising data — NameCharted uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

We do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information unless you contact us directly.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the site. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tool.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to deliver relevant advertisements. You can manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.

The name data

All name popularity data displayed on NameCharted comes from official government sources (U.S. SSA, UK ONS, INSEE, ABS, Statistics Canada, and others). This data is aggregated and contains no personally identifiable information — it tells us how many babies were given a particular name in a given year, nothing more.

NameCharted uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics — site usage measurement
• Google AdSense — advertising

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you.
